Hello everyone and thank you so much for visiting my blog!
I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Medicine Hat, Alberta, and have lived here all of my 17 years. Growing up in this vibrant community has given me many amazing opportunities, and I am truly thankful to have so many great supporters. I am presently in Grade 12, and am further pursuing my studies in sciences at the University of Alberta in hopes of studying science. I absolutely love learning, and am enrolled in both Calculus and English AP classes. Along with my academic interests, I am classically trained in piano, voice, dance, musical theatre and speech arts, and am competing provincially next week in the Rotary Music Festival. I have been involved in countless community theatre productions, and have pretty much lived my entire life on stage since I was three years old. Below you will see a photo of me acting out a solemn scene in my photo shoot with Blair Boyd Photography. During my limited spare time, I enjoy reading, running, and keeping an active lifestyle. In the summers, you can find me working at local swimming pools as a lifeguard for the City of Medicine Hat since nothing makes me happier than teaching young children how to swim and saving lives!
Entering the Miss Teenage Canada Pageant is a completely new endeavor for me, but I am beyond excited to become a positive role model for teens across Canada. I was surprisingly encouraged to enter this pageant while grad dress shopping, and entered on a whim not knowing what I was getting myself into. To my surprise, I ended up placing “First Runner-Up” provincially and am now heading to nationals. I am ready to take on the responsibilities of becoming the next Miss Teenage Canada, break the pageant stereotype, and utilize this opportunity as a way of giving back to my community. I will be fundraising for a charity called “Free the Children” within the next few months, and will also be bringing awareness to overlooked causes such as gender equality. Hopefully you will follow me not only out of support, but interest as well!
My goal is to use the Miss Teenage Canada title (www.missteenagecanada.com) to promote my community nationally, volunteer my time and talents, and above all, set a great example for teens worldwide. My platform is to promote gender equality and redefine feminism; a cause that is near and dear to my heart. Please follow me for updates on my latest adventures, healthy lifestyle tips, brainiac fun facts, and crazy artistic ideas as I attempt to become the next Miss Teenage Canada!
